Marko Boricich continues to impress for Mt. Carmel summer league baseball. As a freshman, Marko has firmly established himself as the ace of the staff! His last outing against Brother Rice was more of the same, throwing 3 innings and striking out 9! Watch out for this up and coming star quarterback as football season is right around the corner!

Caitlyn Daly is a hitting machine for DGS JV softball! This past weekend, the freshman hit for a .700 average with 2 singles, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and 8 rbi over 3 games! You can’t get this girl out! Keep the hot streak going Caitlyn!

Anthony Shimkus is not only a top-tier pitcher for De La Salle high school, he can hit too! Last night, Anthony hit a walk-off GRAND SLAM in extra innings to win against rival Marist high school. All that weight lifting is paying off! Keep up the hot streak!

Congratulations Gina Sementa! Gina just got offered a full-ride scholarship to Briarcliff University to run track after a stellar indoor season with Willowbrook High School. Good luck in outdoor this year Gina! Tear it up!

Megan Keegan is hitting bombs! In her last game, the Elk Grove junior showed off her power, going 2-2 with a 3-run home run! Nice job Megan!

Donny “Donny Kong” Kwasigroch is a new man! After trying his hand at track and field for St. Isaac’s last spring and running a 7 minute mile, Donny has shaved almost a full minute off his time- down to a 6:06! Next time he’ll be under 6! Great work Donny!

Nick Burdi and Matt Wivinis are a two-headed monster for the pitching staff of DGS high school! The team is in Arizona for spring break and they are putting on a show! Burdi threw 5 innings today with 10 k’s, gave up 1 run and hit 97 mph. Wivinis got the win yesterday against the #1 team in the nation with 7 innings, 6 k’s and 1 run. These guys are untouchable!

The Downers Grove Outlaws knew they had a player in Emily York, they just didn’t know how good. In last weekend’s U14 softball tournament in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Emily batted .625 with 10 extra-base hits over 6 games, leading her team to a 2nd place finish. This is against the top 12 teams in the Midwest! Atta girl, Em!

Kathryn Hagstrom is a speed demon! Running for York High School, Kathryn was bumped up to the sophomore team for indoor conference and did not disappoint! She set 2 personal records, including a 2:36 leg of the 4×800 and a 5:53 mile! Keep up the momentum for outdoor season Kathryn!
